How ActivateIQ Works

From loan funding to OEM-based activation — a faster alternative to hardwired GPS.

The OEM-Based Activation Process

1

New Loan & Unit Details

The lender provides basic loan information and unit identifiers (e.g., VIN, year, make, model) for a late-model transportation asset.

2

Compatibility Review

ActivateIQ checks OEM and platform compatibility to confirm whether the unit supports remote activation for location services.

3

Remote OEM Activation

For compatible units, we initiate a remote activation process that turns on the OEM-embedded location transmitter — without installing any physical device.

4

Unit Comes Online

Once activated, the asset begins sending location updates at intervals appropriate for monitoring and risk management, subject to connectivity and platform behavior.

5

Monitoring & Exceptions

Lenders can use this visibility to monitor higher-risk accounts, investigate anomalies, and better support workout and recovery decisions.

6

Recovery Support (Optional)

When an account moves into repossession, ActivateIQ’s location intelligence can be used by the lender’s recovery partners or via coordinated recovery programs.

Note: OEM connectivity and feature availability may vary by unit, OEM platform, and region. Location performance can be affected by coverage, equipment status, and system conditions.
